Urgent Fundraising Appeal for Our People in Artsakh and Armenia
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Artsakh is under attack. Armenia is at war.
Our soldiers on the battlefield are standing strong under the most withering fire with uncommon valor. Our people of Artsakh are enduring savage bombardment with characteristic stoicism and humor. And our people in Armenia are showing a spirit worthy of their finest hour.
Each and every one of us, the sons and daughters of Armenia in the Diaspora, have a moral duty to support them and the war effort in every way possible and with the fullest measure of our devotion, so that the sacrifices of our people and our Hayrenik will not be in vain.
We must support them with our prayers, our voices, our advocacy and, above all, our wallets. And we must do so now. Every day the war costs Armenia between $30 and $40 million to fight, to say nothing of the incalculable economic losses and unspeakable costs of infrastructure destroyed and lives ruined.
Please give as generously as you can to the Hayastan All Armenian Fund by clicking on the link below or by sending a check to St. Illuminator’s Cathedral (221 East 27th Street, New York, New York 10016) and writing “Artsakh War Relief” in the memo section. All donations received by check will be sent to the All Armenian Fund.
This struggle is our new Sardarabad. Now, however, we stand tall and stride onto the stage of history not as vassals or supplicants but as a free people and a sovereign nation. And while this manifestation of the struggle may be new, the struggle is as ancient as Armenia itself. We the people of Hayk have been tested before. And when the price was far more dear and the lamp light of history burned far dimmer, still, even in those moments, when the bell tolled loudest, bearing a Cross in one hand and a sword in the other, we answered the call of history, honored the blood of our ancestors and won a just future for the generations to come. We are doing so again. We are Armenians. And we will not fail.
But it will take the united effort of all of us to succeed.
Յաղթելու ենք.
Most faithfully and gratefully,
Rev. Fr. Mesrob Lakissian and the Board of Trustees
